We are currently seeking applications for a Payroll Manager to join the Payroll Services team within Shared Services SA at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 12 months.
Remuneration: ASO8 – Salary Range ($121,107 - $125,679 per annum) + 11.5% Superannuation

Shared Services SA is a branch within the Department of Treasury and Finance. It delivers corporate and business services to a range of SA Government agencies and improves the delivery of internal administrative services by developing simpler, faster, more robust, and efficient processes and systems.
About the opportunity:
The Payroll Manager is accountable to the Director, Payroll Services for ensuring that payroll services are delivered to designated SA Government client agencies, and their employees, within agreed performance standards, Service Level Determinations, and service designs.
The role is also responsible for planning and managing the resourcing of payroll services to designated clients to meet agreed performance standards and efficiency targets. The position is responsible for high level service delivery outcomes for the business on behalf of Shared Services SA.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience managing a high volume transactional service delivery operation where continuous improvement and customer service excellence are key focuses. This may have been gained in a payroll environment however, is not essential. Contact centre or shared service experience from customer focused service delivery positions is transferable to this role.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- A proven track record of establishing performance and development goals and objectives to maximise team performance and continuously improve operational efficiency.
- Experience successfully implementing improvement initiatives and change management activities within a large and complex operational environment.
- Experience analysing and managing resource requirements and developing resource plans to support the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
