The Manager, Cabinet and Secretarial Services provides high quality advice, coordination, strategic policy and project support for the Deputy Secretary, Water and Catchments Group (WCG). Working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, often complex in nature, the Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of ministerial, whole of government, departmental and group-wide priorities and commitments. Underpinning the role is the need for a sound understanding of public administration and public policy development as well as a detailed understanding of government processes. The role requires strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a well-developed, systematic and logical approach to problem solving. As a member of the Office of the Deputy Secretary, integrity and the ability to build and maintain effective strategic relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, Minister and Secretary advisors and key stakeholders across the Victorian Government, is essential. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications \* Relevant tertiary qualifications in public administration and/or related portfolio content will be an advantage, but not essential. \* An understanding of the processes and levers that apply to government is essential. This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
