About The Role

Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of exciting projects, we are looking for a WHSEQ and Compliance Business Partner who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment. You will provide guidance, both internally and externally to support our clients and our people safely to reach their goals.

In this role, you will report to the WHSEQ Manager Australia and be responsible for efficiently and effectively coordinating incident response and investigations, with the ability to conduct research, manage audits, data and trend analysis, together with associated reporting, leading to informed and successful decision-making.

This solutions-based role is critical to ensuring a safe, compliant and efficient business, and will lead processes within the APEM Group and work closely with similar functions in other APEM Group businesses in Australia and globally to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach. Key responsibilities:

• Communications and Consultation: Effective, practical and regular communications across all business units to ensure adherence to WHS processes and procedures. Partner with all areas of the business, providing clear guidance with a solutions focus mentality.

• ISO Certification: Successfully leading and project managing annual and three yearly external ISO certification processes across APEM Australia, ensuring recertification.

• Work Health & Safety: Be the subject matter expert on all areas of WHS nationally, providing practical guidelines and solutions across all business units to required timelines. Annual reduction in incident/injury rate, ensuring employees have full return to work following injury.

• Compliance: Meeting regulatory and business compliance standards through active review cycles of all documentation and maintenance of all documents and evidence chains.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum Diploma level)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior HSE role within an environmental and/or construction environment

• Proven experience in implementing and maintaining best practice HSE programs within a large, complex organisation

• Strong understanding of Australian WHS and environmental legislation

• Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and Sharepoint

• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

• Experience in managing stakeholders (internal and external)

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• A proactive, hands-on approach to tasks and challenges

• The ability to travel interstate on occasions, is essential for this role
