Your Next Role

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Business Partner plays a vital role in promoting and maintaining high HSE standards across designated operational sites and client groups. By building strong partnerships with line management, employees, and key stakeholders, this role drives a proactive safety culture. The HSE Business Partner is responsible for supporting the implementation of safety initiatives in alignment with the Hyne Group HSE strategic plan, ensuring continuous improvement of Hyne’s HSE Management System, maintaining legislative compliance, and contributing to the company’s broader business objectives.

  • Leaders and teams are engaged, have the tools to do their job, and have the confidence and ability to manage HSE obligations and risks.
  • Support and coach leaders and teams in applying HSE systems, change management, and risk management to ensure compliance and business objectives are met while ensuring a strong proactive safety culture.
  • Facilitate structured risk assessments, controls, and governance to improve HSE performance across asset and operational lifecycles.
  • Oversee HSE event response, reporting, and investigations to drive systematic improvements.
  • Implement and manage HSE training, inductions, and competency verification to strengthen safety culture.
  • Partner with leaders to enhance communication, consultation, and collaboration on HSE initiatives.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and engage with industry peers to drive best practices across sites.
About you
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS/OHS (Diploma or higher), with auditing and training certifications desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE principles, risk management, and industry-specific requirements, particularly in the timber sector.
  • Experience developing and implementing HSE management systems and leading cultural change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies (e.g., ICAM) and driving corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyse HSE data to identify risks and implement strategic improvements.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, education, and influencing at all levels.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance, sustainability, and waste management practices.
  • Current driver's licence
