- Based in Logan Central
The successful candidate will perform the following role:
- Develop and apply project management skills and knowledge to successfully plan, deliver and evaluate a Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce aerial treatment project.
- Supervise and help lead a small project team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the aerial treatment project.
- Provide effective project coordination, reporting and tracking of project activities including project deliverables and risks.
- Lead project data recording processes utilising departmental programs, including mapping, field data capture and integration into National Fire Ant Eradication Program IT systems. Ensure sound governance of data collection, storage, analysis and reporting of results.
- Provide technical advice to large landholders in areas targeted for aerial treatment on the effective implementation of fire ant management, including risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment and reporting.
- Plan and coordinate activities that engage and support large landholders to accommodate aerial treatment of the land they own or manage, and to undertake land-based treatment of any areas not aerially treated.
- Represent the Department at workshops, field days, meetings and engagements with large landholders to promote fire ant management activities and options.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including various functions in the National Fire Ant Eradication Program and FAST.
- The position will require some weekend work.
