About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate team member to provide vital assistance and support to the Genetic Counselling discipline within CALHN. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Principal Genetic Counsellor to help deliver high-quality allied health services to patients and clients. Your contribution will support the delivery of patient-centred care across a diverse caseload, helping individuals and families understand and manage genetic conditions.
As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will gain valuable experience in the field of genetic counselling while contributing to positive health outcomes for the community. This is a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills within a leading health network, working alongside experienced professionals dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of patients.
About You
You are a compassionate and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in supporting patients and families through genetic counselling services. You bring excellent communication skills, empathy, and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary health team.

Currently studying or graduated with a Masters of Genetic Counselling, with a strong understanding of genetic services and counselling principles.

Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse individuals, including those with complex health needs, while showing adaptability and advocacy.

Work effectively under supervision and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving, time management, and organisational skills.

Knowledgeable about patient confidentiality, ethical practice, quality management, and national healthcare standards within an allied health setting.
