About Us: Croudace Constructs refurb department is a dynamic and growing team specialising in the refurbishment and renovation of commercial and residential spaces. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects and exceptional service to our clients.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Estimator to join our team and take this department to the next level, helping us to achieve our vision of creating award winning transformational projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for our refurbishment and renovation projects. Our projects vary in size from kitchen renovations through to home extensions and commercial fitouts. You will work closely with our Building Works Operations Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure the successful estimating and delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating costs for refurbishment and renovation projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Reviewing construction documentation to create comprehensive scopes of work and material requirements.
  • Analysing and interpreting client-supplied documentation and specifications.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to verify pricing and scheduling requirements.
  • Developing innovative construction techniques, schedules and programmes to reduce labour and material costs.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders for project commencement.
  • Converting estimates into detailed project budgets for the site team.
  • Conducting handover meetings with the operations team.
  • Producing thorough handover documentation for projects.
  • Managing procurement activities and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Following up on submissions and maintaining necessary registers.
  • Utilizing company software systems for estimating and project management.
  • Performing administrative duties related to project management as required.
  • Undertaking any additional tasks as requested by Managers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in construction estimating, particularly in refurbishments and renovations.
  • Strong local network of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Current White Card.
