Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to process master data and rostering adjustments in payroll systems, ensuring compliance with standard payroll processes and relevant industrial legislation.

You'll apply advanced technical payroll skills and high-level knowledge to resolve complex payroll issues and provide mentoring and coaching to staff to achieve team performance standards.

The Senior Payroll Officer in Payroll Transactional Services reports to the Service Coordinator.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues, as well as the ability to access and interpret relevant industrial awards, agreements, statutory regulations and legislation relating to payroll.
  • Demonstrated advanced conceptual, analytical and problem solving abilities in relation to complex payroll and establishment issues including utilising a risk management approach to the prioritisation and management of complex cases.
  • Proven ability to support and mentor payroll staff and contribute to ongoing individual and team development and effectiveness and the achievement of agreed performance objectives.
  • Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, communication and client services skills with a diverse range of clients.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
