The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us at Queensland Country Life as a Media Sales Consultant based in Cleveland Redland Bay, QLD. Reporting to the Agriculture Commercial Manager - Queensland, this role is instrumental in the success of our progressive growth sales strategy.

Queensland Country Life has been firmly entrenched as Queensland's major agriculture publication for over 89 years. It provides unequaled market reach into the state's diverse agricultural community. The paper's reputation among Queensland's and the Northern Territory's agriculture sector is unsurpassed.

This role focuses on print and digital media advertising sales, account management and customer service, with an exciting mix of existing customers and new business generation.

The roles responsibilities include:

  • Manage a customer portfolio, providing our clients with progress updates for their campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Achieve and go beyond the digital and print sales revenue targets within the region.
  • Provide exceptional customer service across all touch points using excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Manage time effectively and adapt well to change. In our ever changing industry it's important to have a proactive approach and ability to influence and lead customers and colleagues through change.
  • Attend sales calls both in person or via Google hangout, as required by management

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong sales background - experience level can be varied, we want to train you to become an exceptional media advertising sales person.
  • Strong digital marketing knowledge across SEM, SEO, Social and display advertising would be preferred, however not essential.
  • Experience in B2B customer facing roles liaising with both SMEs and large organisations would be advantageous, however again not essential.
  • A natural flare for communication - a real people person with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
  • An understanding of the agricultural sector would be preferred, again not essential.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
