Clinical Trials Recruitment Nurse
Join our compassionate team at Nightingale Research

Nightingale Research, one of Australia’s largest private cardiovascular clinical trials organisations, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Trials Research/Recruitment Nurse . As part of our growing team, you’ll help conduct phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials of innovative treatments that are not yet approved by the TGA or FDA. This role is ideal for someone passionate about clinical research and eager to make a meaningful difference.

About Us:

We conduct clinical trials that give patients access to cutting-edge treatments not available to the general public. Working with global pharmaceutical companies, we’ve helped bring leading medications to market. Our team has over 50 years of combined clinical trials experience, and we pride ourselves on a positive, supportive, and compassionate workplace culture.

About the Role:

The Clinical Trials Recruitment Nurse will be responsible for screening and scheduling patients for clinical trials conducted at Nightingale Research. This includes liaising with consultants to assess patient suitability and approaching patients to discuss current trials. There may also be opportunities for additional training to support the clinical research team with patient visits as needed.

You will work closely with the clinical and operational teams to ensure patient safety and the collection of high-quality data.

While prior experience in clinical trials is beneficial, it is not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming referrals and assess eligibility for clinical trials.
  • Review the EMR database to identify potential candidates for clinical trials.
  • Reach out to suitable candidates, either in person at the clinic or by phone, to educate them about current clinical trials.
  • Complete all required trial-specific training as needed.
  • Develop and implement effective patient recruitment strategies to achieve recruitment targets.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Perform trial-related procedures, including vital signs monitoring, ECGs, phlebotomy, cannulation, and sample collection.
  • Provide patient-centred care to clinical trial participants.
  • Safely administer trial medications and ensure strict adherence to study protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of trial activities.

About You: We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organised, and eager to contribute to clinical research. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A nursing qualification (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent).
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • 2+ years post-graduate experience.
  • Phlebotomy and medication administration skills (required).
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving approach.
  • A knowledge of cardiology is desirable but not essential.
