Youth Justice Research and Evaluation is a high performing team within Strategy and Performance, responsible for further developing the evidence-base to inform policy and program design that addresses offending behavior and delivers better services to children, young people, and families in Queensland.The team are responsible for leading program evaluations, developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, contract managing outsourced evaluation projects, and managing the departments research approval and partnership process
As Director, You Will Specifically
- Manage the research and evaluation programs and frameworks and liaise and negotiate with other agencies and stakeholders on a range of evaluations and research initiatives.
- Undertake contract management and approval and partnership processes within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Prepare papers, submissions, briefs, memoranda and letters for the Senior Executive Director, Deputy Director-General, Director-General and Minister on complex policy, strategic issues.
- Contribute to a dynamic and creative team environment focused on generating and actioning innovative ideas.
- Represent the department at a senior level as required, including at interdepartmental and intergovernmental meetings and associated management committees.
- Manage the human, financial and operational resources of the work unit to ensure the achievement of strategic and business objectives.
- Develop and advise on strategic directions and planning priorities and contribute to setting the strategic agenda for the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support.
- Drive the departmental vision, goals and values and proactively lead and manage in a style consistent with the vision, values and priorities of the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support.
