Your opportunity
This role is essential in ensuring business continuity by providing backfill support for the CPB Team Leader and Payroll Systems Officer whilst supporting the CIMIC payroll implementation project and will serve as the first point of call for all payroll escalations, payroll enquiries, audits, perform system testing, troubleshooting and the review of EBA setups, as well as providing expertise and leadership and other payroll team members.
The Senior Payroll Specialist/ Lead will be accountable for:
- Coordinating audits, bulk payroll uploads, overpayment recovery and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Maintaining Timekeeper systems, resolving integration issues, and managing payroll reporting and ticketing systems
- Managing relationships with outsourced payroll providers ensuring payroll systems updates pay rule configurations and award interpretations.
- Testing payroll system functionality, implementing new releases and ensuring smooth payroll operations
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Diploma in Accounting and Payroll Certificate (both desirable) with knowledge of legislative and award compliance
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including interpretation of awards and EBAs in a corporate environment
- Experience with large - scale payroll/HRIS systems (Oracle, Precada) and advanced Excel skills for reporting
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, manage time effectively and work under pressure
- Strong communication skills with experience managing outsourced payroll (Desirable)
