Job Description
An Automotive Test Engineer is responsible for evaluating and testing vehicles, components, and systems to ensure they meet safety, performance, quality, and compliance standards. Below is a general job description for the role:
As an Automotive Test Engineer, you will design, plan, and execute tests for automotive systems, components, and complete vehicles. Your role is essential in validating designs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving overall performance and reliability. You will work closely with design, development, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality automotive products.
The candidate must have the familiarity and experience with using scan tools, data loggers and test equipment in an automotive setting.Set up vehicles with data loggers etc and perform vehicle testing.Prepare detailed test reports and communicate findings to stakeholders. Must participate in management reviews.Identify opportunities to improve testing methods, tools, and processes.Stay updated on advancements in automotive technology and testing practices.Work with cross-functional teams, including design, development, quality assurance, and manufacturing.The candidate must possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with the knowledge of regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in testing tools and equipments.Must have Australian working rights and willing to work in the specified job location.
