The Role
The Deputy Director Governance and Support Systems position within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is accountable for exercising leadership for the Governance, Workforce and Business Support remits.
You will support the achievement of DASA's role to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through provision of DASA command & business support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of DASA's governance frameworks including performance and risk.
- Develop and monitor key performance and risk indicators (KPI's / KRI's) for program effectiveness.
- Oversee the design and implementation of performance and risk systems including reporting tools.
- Contribute to the long term strategic and business planning of DASA.
- Ensure proper management of resources to achieve DASA's strategic and business objectives, leading the workforce capability (Including recruitment) and business support teams.
- Oversee security protocols and other ad-hoc business support as necessary.
About our Team
The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks.
DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters (HQ) elements and six Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community. The organisation has a strength of approximately 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.
