An exciting opportunity has opened up on a Permanent (Full Time or Part Time) basis within the Genetics department at Nepean Hospital. The position would be based on core hospital business hours to ensure appropriate service delivery.
The successful incumbent will provide administrative support to facilitate the overall effective and efficient operation of Clinical Genetics services and the multidisciplinary team. Within this role, you will manage reception and incoming phone enquiries, medical transcription typing, accurate data entry into patient administration systems and managing the hybrid medical record.

What you will bring to the role
- Ability to undertake more complex administrative tasks in support of senior officers and the broader work area, applying independent action within established work practices and procedures, working under general instruction and broad supervision
- Respond to a range of enquiries (in person and over the phone) providing information and triaging enquiries to clinical staff in a confidential, effective and responsive manner
- Attention to detail with demonstrated efficiencies in processing clinical correspondence and uploading information into electronic patient records
- Demonstrated high level organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands to ensure timely completion of work
- Experience managing paper medical records including manually filing in terminal digit order, updating tracking location in Patient Administration System (PAS) (E.g. Trakgene). Whilst ensuring clinical notes are filed in sequential order under correct sectional divider.
- Demonstrated competency in medical transcription typing, with a minimum speed of 50 wpm and 99% accuracy
