About the Role

This exciting role covers all aspects of Work Health & Safety (WHS), from the creative to compliance. Our workforce covers three quite different entities – early learning, healthcare, and community services – making it a unique organisation with ample hands-on development opportunities.

Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Impact, and being part of a forward-thinking results driven team, you will provide specialist WHS support, consultation, monitoring, and governance.

The WHS Business Partner provides support to business partners and ensures all relevant WHS legislation, and Ngala frameworks, policies and procedures are implemented and effective.

You will provide leadership across WHS risk management, emergency management, incident investigation and support, injury management and worker’s compensation.

Your portfolio will also include training, and monitoring of compliance to internal policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

You will have the opportunity to design, develop and implement Ngala’s WHS strategy and ‘fit-for-purpose’ WHS framework and system.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who is creative, resourceful and brings energy to the team. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will assist you in engaging and supporting a variety of stakeholders across the organisation, helping to drive positive safety and Business Partner maturing culture of safety.

To be successful in the role you will have:

· Tertiary level qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health and/or relevant discipline.

· Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a work health and safety role.

· Experience in injury management including management of Workers’ Compensation claims.

· A strong understanding of health/ \early learning and or not for profit/charity organisations.

· Legislation relating to work health and safety, and injury management.

· Experience with the design, development, and implementation of WHS frameworks, strategies, policies, and procedures.

· Solid organisational skills including diligence and multi-tasking skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

· Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will need to hold a current WA driver’s licence and satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months.

As part of our commitment to being a Child Safe organisation, successful candidates are required to provide their Immunisation History Statement.

While immunisations are highly encouraged, they are not mandatory. This information will help us assess and implement appropriate safety measures for everyone.
