About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic applicant for the role of Manager Community Support and Development Programs - Prevention Capacity Building.

About the role

This position initiates, coordinates, manages, and supports the development, implementation and evaluation of capacity building strategies, programs and projects which provide contemporary, best-practice, evidence-based and informed training, and resources on Mental Health (MH), Suicide Prevention (SP) and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) related issues.

This is part of the Prevention Capacity Building team which provides Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention training, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) training, Naloxone training, Volatile Substance Use training, Responding to Alcohol and Drugs in an Event Setting (Leaver’s training). The overarching objective of the Capacity Building team is to cultivate skills in collaboration and coordination, ultimately leading to the establishment of networks of people that have the skills and ability to reduce the incidence of suicide and suicide related harm, improve mental health and wellbeing and reduce the harms associated with AOD use.

In undertaking the role of this position, the occupant will need to recognise that there is a commitment to focussing on the needs of the individual, their families, carers or advocates working in partnership for better alcohol and other drug outcomes and improved mental health.
