Description:
Marcel Pacific is seeking a Graduate or Junior engineer to work in a well-funded start up, focusing on Defence subsea technology.
Our ideal candidate has, or is close to completing a degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering. A keen interest in autonomous systems, robotics and the maritime environment is a must.
Any time spent outside of university/work on personal hobby projects, will be well regarded.
You will initially be assisting with construction and repairs to our Automated Underwater Vehicles, including electronics, 3D printing, CNC machining, as well as other general workshop tasks.
While not a structured graduate program, it is expected that the right candidate will grow with the company and move from Graduate to Junior Engineer within 6-12 months. As you progress, you can expect responsibility for your own sub-projects, under the direction of the Head of Engineering.
As Marcel Pacific works entirely on Defence projects, a Baseline security clearance and Defence Identification card are required. This will be sponsored for you upon joining.
Essential skills/requirements are:
- Australian Citizen
- Eligible for Security Clearance
- Ability to work in a small, focused team
- Working towards engineering qualification
- Aptitude in electronics, 3D printing, CAD and general workshop tool use.
