About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Financial Controller to join our team on an initial 3 – 6-month contract engagement. You will be responsible for overseeing financial and management accounting functions, including reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.

- Support the Executive Leadership Team in this for-purpose community organisation
Supporting the Operational Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in driving business decisions and maintaining financial compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-of-month processes, including reconciliations, profit and loss statements, variance reporting, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis
- Manage and supervise all financial accounting functions, including General Ledger, Debtors, Creditors, Payroll, and BAS
- Ensure compliance with payroll, superannuation, accounting & internal financial controls/policies
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash flow reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Liaise with and assist with external audit activities as required
- Assist in the preparation of reports for key stakeholders within the business
- Lead, mentor, and coach members of the finance team
- Prepare, deliver, and assist with presentations, including staff inductions and roadshows
- Commit to continuous improvement around processes, procedures and finance functions
- A natural leader with demonstrable ability to coach, mentor and grow finance professionals
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- High integrity, professionalism, and adaptability
- Resilient under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and ethical standards
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in Financial Accounting/Management roles
- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Willingness to complete Child Protection Training
- Qualified CA or working towards it
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Sage, SAP, Advanced MYOB, Netsuite, and payroll systems is advantageous but not essential
