About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
People Strategy and Operations (VPS) division focuses on continuous improvement of the systems and processes for end-to-end HR operations for corporate staff, and accommodation services, whilst also providing strategic advice and support. The division manages corporate office working places, environmental sustainability, payroll and recruitment, policy and workplace relations, workforce management, and leads and supports strategic organisational and learning and development across all corporate areas. Specific objectives in the division's business plan cover the delivery of strategic and operational services that meet client needs, improving policies, smarter systems and better processes, and building the Division's profile within the department - as well as implementing a values-based approach and delivering on our corporate responsibilities. The Division is comprised of four branches:
- People Services
- Policy and Workplace Relations
- Workforce Strategy and Capability
- Working Places Strategy and Design
- lead the department's corporate leadership and capability development programs aligned to DE's Strategic intent, Strategic Plan, and Leadership Charter
- lead initiatives to embed a culture of integrity and accountability aligned to the public sector values, across all areas of the department
- provide strategic advice and support to the corporate areas of the department in organisational capability, culture, effectiveness supports best practice induction, performance management and recognition strategies and processes.
We are seeking a proactive Project Adviser for Fixed Term 12 months, which will contribute to the successful delivery of a range of organisational development (OD) programs. The role supports a variety of employment programs and projects within the Organisational Development team. This includes but is not limited to; supporting the delivery of projects, program coordination associated with the department's Graduate Program and Internship Program and general team support. The role also plays a support role across the whole team which may include Secretariat function of the department's Culture, People and Integrity Committee and Learning development program support.
We have a minimum of 3 days in the office located adjacent Treasury Gardens in East Melbourne.
What we are looking for:

- Demonstrated experience working in project coordination and/or program support
- Demonstrated experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking embracing innovation and continuous improvement
- Previous experience in support employment programs, Organisational development teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience using Oracle systems is highly regarded
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Previous experience in using Learning Management Systems would also be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in supporting an Organisational Development or HR team is highly desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources and / or relevant qualification in Organisational Psychology are desirable.
