Your opportunity:

Our Digital & Information group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Applications Readiness Change Manager to join our newly established Digital Applications Readiness team.

Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities' digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.

Reporting to the Digital Applications Readiness Lead, the Applications Readiness Change Manager is accountable for supporting change initiatives within Urban Utilities by ensuring the organisation is prepared for changes related to software applications, by assessing readiness, developing change plans, and managing communication and training to facilitate smooth transitions. This role involves collaborating with the Organisation Change Managers to ensure the ongoing development and execution of change management strategies are successfully adopted and consistently maintained through best practices. Collaboration with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts and Developers are also essential to this role.

Working collaboratively with project teams, leaders, and stakeholders, this role is responsible for assessing change impacts, developing communication and training plans, and mitigating resistance to change. You will achieve this by applying best practices in change management methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies that align with Urban Utilities' objectives and business requirements.

You will contribute to and maintain comprehensive change management plans that provide the foundation for transparent and accurate reporting on change readiness, adoption metrics, and overall effectiveness. In doing so, you will support continuous improvement in change management practices, cultural alignment, and employee engagement.

Success in this role will be measured by the effective implementation of change initiatives, the level of stakeholder and employee adoption, and the overall contribution to the organisational success of Urban Utilities.

About you:

  • Industry Experience & Change Management : Experience in change management within medium to large organisations, applying best-practice methodologies to digital transformation projects.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement : Ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences and act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders. Skilled in developing and delivering change-related communications.
  • Project Planning & Execution : Proven ability to plan, organise, and manage resources within short to medium timeframes, ensuring alignment with organisational policies.
  • Collaboration & Customer Focus : Strong teamwork skills, fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment with a customer-centric approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability & Decision-Making : Agile and proactive in navigating change, with strong planning, prioritisation, and decision-making abilities to drive effective outcomes.
  • Integrity & Compliance : Demonstrates authenticity, respect for diverse perspectives, and adherence to security requirements (e.g., SOCI/security clearance as needed).

Performance of 'on call' duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities' operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner. The remuneration for the role has been calculated to include compensation for the requirement to remain available to perform work during on call periods and for the performance of work outside the ordinary hours of work as part of on call processes and otherwise. In some instances, additional compensation and remuneration may apply.

At UU, we celebrate diversity. We genuinely believe that bringing together diversity of thoughts, perspectives and expressions is key and crucial to our success as a business.
