Description:
An opportunity exists for a passionate, experienced and innovative Head of Department (Secondary) - Senior Schooling to join the leadership team at Alexandra Hills State High School on a full-time temporary basis, from 22 April 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.
You will be a strategic, forward thinker and will play a vital role in leading the education services that are delivered at Alexandra Hills State High School to ensure students have the knowledge and skills to succeed post Year 12.
The successful applicant will need to have knowledge, experience and leadership with the Senior Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), Queensland Curriculum Assessment Authority (QCAA) and extensive knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET).

About Alexandra Hills State High School
Our leafy campus provides a learning environment where students are both challenged and supported in studying subjects from a very broad and diverse selection.
As a member of the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, we are able to offer students special opportunities to explore careers in the resources sector. Through partnerships with other learning providers students are able to commence Diploma courses and complete Certificate courses whilst at school. About the Role
Head of Department - Senior Schooling will be responsible, but not limited to:
- Tracking and monitoring student achievement and progress data including QCE attainment, ATAR & VET completion.
- Leading a range of faculty teams in a large school, to deliver quality outcomes for a diverse range of students across years 10-12.
- Leading and quality assuring a diverse suite of senior subjects including VET and complimentary pathways subjects.
- Working collaboratively with the college leadership team on the continued review and refinement of senior pathways at AHSHS.
- Forming partnerships with other external agencies, community, industry and business to facilitate VET and employment opportunities for students at AHSHS.
