The Information Services Directorate sits within the People and Corporate Services Division and provides integral services in the information and communication technology space to the entire Department. Information Services partner with our customers and stakeholders to support and drive the development of innovative, digital, and customer-focused outcomes and services.
The Opportunity
We are seeking to employ two Incident and Problem Officers to join our Service Delivery unit in the Information Services Directorate.
Reporting to the Senior Incident and Change Officer, the Incident and Problem Officer require the following skill set:
- Possesses extensive experience in a role focused on ICT-based Major Incident Management or Problem Management.
- Proven experience coordinating stakeholders, conducting investigations, preparing recommendation reports, maintaining records and systems, and contributing to program and project development and performance benchmarking.
- Adjusts communication style based on the situation to explain technical concepts clearly to an audience with varying technical backgrounds and presents arguments to influence and negotiate effective outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of ICT major incidents, with prioritisation of resolution within time-sensitive setting.
- Proven experience in managing problem cases to identify root causes of ICT incidents and implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Expertise and experience in proactively investigating trends in ICT incidents.
- Knowledge of cloud environments, including AWS, with the capability to support effective incident, problem, and change management processes for cloud applications and services.
- Experienced in liaising and negotiating with stakeholders and service providers to coordinate resolutions for major ICT incidents and problems.
- Contributes to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients and teams, building positive relationships to aid in delivering critical services.
- Shows respect for diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives including that of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Values diversity of thought.
- Shows genuine care for the safety and wellbeing of self and others.

Qualifications/Licenses
ITIL certification (V3, V4, or equivalent) or relevant experience with the ITIL framework.
Driver’s License.
Special Conditions
The successful candidates will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
On-call duties will be required on a rostered basis.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Tenure of Vacancy
One Ongoing appointment and,
One Temporary appointment up to 12 months. An extension or conversion to an ongoing role will be considered after this period.
Remuneration
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
