The Role
The HR Consultant is responsible for providing generalist, customer focused, practical and timely HR advice to Host Employers as required. With a focus on management of staff including employee wellbeing and performance, recruitment and workforce planning.
You will…
- Partner with Host Employer management team to support performance management and development of all staff, including the support of operational delivery and workforce planning across the site
- Lead the processes and support Managers through disputes, grievances and disciplinary processes, including investigations and disciplinary outcomes, providing appropriate guidance and escalating as necessary
- Provide accurate, consistent and timely advice on all HR, IR and employment matters
- Identify, develop, communicate and provide advice relating to policies and procedures that support Maxima and the objectives of the client and reflect current industry best practice
- Respond to, and triage WHS incidents and issues as they arise in consultation with WHS Consultant
- Support and assist Payroll team to close our queries accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain databases for the provision and management of HR transactions and reporting ensuring accuracy of records and information
- Oversee end to end recruitment strategy
- Conduct exit interviews for departing employees, compiling statistics, and making recommendations on trends and improvement areas
This is a 3 year fixed-term contract (to 30/04/2028), with the option to work Full-time or Flexible part-time.
You will be based a minimum of 2 days a week at the Host Employers’ site in Campbelltown, and 1 day a week at Maxima Head Office in Hindmarsh. There may be flexibility to work from home from time-to-time.
What will you need to succeed?
You will be confident in establishing and building relationships, and the ability to connect and communicate with a large, diverse team of people. With a proactive and results orientated approach.
- Qualification in Human Resources Manager or equivalent (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience in HR procedures and practices
- Ability to interpret legislation, regulations and industrial agreements
- Experience with, or knowledge of the complexities of a labour-hire arrangement/casual employment
- Experience in end-to-end recruitment desirable
- Experience in maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service and stakeholder management
- Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Current Police clearance and Working With Children check or willing to obtain
