- Full-time, continuing position
- Can be based at either the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas or the Cairns Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield
- HEWL 6: $85,816.60 - $92,948.21 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this engaging role, you’ll provide one-on-one guidance to current JCU students and recent graduates on job search strategies, resume and application preparation, and interview skills. You will develop, maintain, and share career resources with students and staff while managing online platforms associated with the service. Additionally, you will provide timely and high-quality client support via email and phone, ensuring students, employers, staff, and alumni receive appropriate referrals, appointments, and career resources. You’ll also coordinate impactful workshops, events, and initiatives that enhance employability and help students transition seamlessly into the workforce. A key part of your role will also involve promoting career programs through targeted outreach and marketing while fostering industry partnerships to create meaningful employment opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Relevant skills and experience are what matter most in this role, and while a degree qualification is preferred, it’s not essential. To succeed, you’ll need excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a solid understanding of the current job market. Your ability to engage confidently with students, graduates, employers, and university staff will be key, as will your capacity to build and maintain professional relationships. Experience in event coordination, marketing, and digital content creation is essential, and you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, student-focused career support will set you apart in this role.

The Student Services and Support Directorate is responsible for managing and coordinating a broad range of student administrative and enquiry management functions and services that are critical to the student experience. Services cover the stages of the student life cycle, from enrolment through to graduation.
