Are you seeking a diverse Public Health role at a leading regional hospital? Join the Gippsland Regional Public Health Unit at Latrobe Regional Health, where a ‘world of opportunities awaits'.
The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU), hosted by Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Senior Public Health Advisor on a fixed-term, full-time basis, until the end of June 2026.
The Senior Public Health Advisor will support the development and delivery of evidence-based Public Health strategies/plans and projects, to improve health outcomes for the Gippsland Community.
This position will work across GRPHU's full range of functions (communicable disease control, epidemiology and surveillance, emergency management, prevention and population health) as required, to plan, implement and evaluate initiatives.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Postgraduate qualification in Public Health or related field, preferably at a Masters level or above.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within government, health or other relevant organisations.
- Minimum five (5) years of senior Public Health related experience.
- Excellent people management skills, developing and contributing to an effective and positive culture.
- Knowledge of Public Health systems and the Public Health Policy and Regulatory environment in Australia.
- Strong Project Management and program delivery skills, including design and outcome reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including strong relationship management, emotional and social awareness and the ability to manage sensitive and complex issues.
- Experience with implementing change in a complex environment.
