Finance Officer – Maternity Position
The Role
We are seeking an organised person with strong accounting and financial experience to join the team as our Finance Officer to cover maternity leave for a 12-month period.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial aspects of both the Great Stupa Ltd and the Great Stupa Library Ltd, and will provide reporting to the Board, ATO, ACNC, and our auditors. Some of the key areas include:
Accounting
Monthly reconciliations, BAS reporting, invoicing, recording transactions received through Bendigo Bank, PayPal, Stripe, Tyro, and Quest
Payroll
Weekly payroll processing, superannuation, PAYG, updating award wages, employee setup and termination processes
Banking
Deposits, account transfers, paying weekly bills and monthly statements, donations
Investment Accounts
Processing investment purchases and sales, account transfers, reconciliations
Grants
Managing records of expenditure, invoicing, funds receivable
General
Petty cash, takings, float organisation, online payments, creating financial contracts and agreements
The Finance Officer will report to the General Manager, and will work harmoniously with the management team, team leaders, and the extended staff and volunteer teams.
The role is on a part time 30 hour per week basis, with the days being Monday – Thursday; from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Extra hours may be required for certain weekend and evening festivals and events.
Employee benefits will include 11.5% superannuation (or as directed by Federal Government legislation), accrued personal leave, accrued annual leave, and paid leave on public holidays.
This role is a maternity position for a period of approximately 12 months, commencing as soon as possible.
Requirements
The Finance Officer will be flexible to move between tasks, and capable to manage all finances unassisted. Currently transitioning from Reckon Accounts Hosted to Xero accounting software.
A high level of accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail is essential. This is a role that continuously experiences changes and developments, so the successful candidate would have the ability to attend to new tasks as they arise and the initiative to handle them accordingly.
