About the role
Are you passionate about Artificial Intelligence and eager to make a significant impact in the field? Join our team as a Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence at the Smart and Distributed Computing (SDC) Lab and the new AI Centre. In this role, you will collaborate on cutting-edge research and teaching initiatives, including an exciting externally funded project with the University of Sydney and Spiral Blue. You will explore the application of edge computing and federated learning techniques using reconfigurable computing in smart satellite constellations. This position requires strong technical skills in Python, R, machine learning models, cloud computing, edge computing, and FPGA. Additionally, you will contribute to the AI Centre by designing new AI subjects, supporting research activities, and engaging in teaching, student supervision, and mentoring in the areas of edge computing and machine learning.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will have a strong research background, contributing to high-quality publications in reputable journals and conferences, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, edge computing, machine learning, and reconfigurable computing, will possess demonstrated knowledge and experience with relevant platforms, programming languages, machine learning models, cloud services, and FPGA technologies. Additionally, you will have experience in curriculum design and subject delivery, showcasing your ability to create and implement effective educational programs. You will also exhibit excellent organisational, project, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, exercise initiative, and meet deadlines. High-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level B $143,084 to $168,838 p.a. (comprising Salary of $120,908 to $142,769 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
