The Role

  • The Women’s Counsellor is a part of a team providing generalist counselling to women who reside or work in the Logan area.

  • The purpose of this role is to provide evidence-based counselling interventions to women to assist women towards their counselling goals which often focus on creating a safer, healthier life by working through trauma, abuse, and challenging experiences.

  • Central to this role is a thorough understanding of therapeutic approaches to counselling and commitment to best practice and a willingness to change and develop as the service evolves to meet community need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based counselling interventions to women aged 14 and over

  • Ensure delivery of all services is psychologically and culturally safe and within the practice framework of CFW

  • Respond to, and implement appropriate strategies to manage risk

  • Participate in team debrief and reflective practice sessions

  • Deliver psychoeducation and/or therapeutic group work as required

Salary and Benefits

  • SCHADS Level 5.1 ($49.28 p/h) | Part-Time (30 Hours Per Week) | $76,876 annually

  • Permanent with recurrent funding

  • Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

  • Flexible Working Arrangements such as compressed working weeks, or WFH options within program requirements

Experience and Qualifications

  • Essential: tertiary qualification in counselling, social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant 2 years counselling experience) received from a recognised university.

  • Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in counselling.

Potential Start Dates

This role is available to start on:

  • Monday 28 April 2025

We have set start dates for new team members so that they can undertake our supportive induction process with our Practice and Development Lead and Risk & Culture Officer. This process allows new team members to have set time to learn more about our organisation, our practice frameworks and set up all equipment and logins.
