The opportunity

Vacenti is seeking a Full-time Housekeeping Team Leader to join the Hotel Services Team at Coorparoo (Casa Damore) and Mount Gravatt East (Esida). You will work closely with the Group Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor, Hotel Services Manager, and Facility Manager to maintain high standard, housekeeping operations at our facilities.

The Housekeeping Team Leader works collaboratively with all levels of management, staff and relevant external agencies and ensures that Vacenti quality standards, policies and procedures are always applied. A key deliverable is ensuring the delivery of quality cleaning services to resident rooms and public areas of the home and performed to Vacenti’s PERSON values within the context of regulatory and financial compliance.

The Housekeeping Team Leader provides leadership, direction and mentoring to all housekeeping staff in a support role to the Group Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor and Facility Manager.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the Housekeeping Team Leader, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Complete housekeeping and cleaning duties in facility (or prescribed area) as per key tasks
  • Manage and monitor consumables stock.
  • Train or monitor training for process updates and new staff.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Plan and schedule work appropriately to ensure you are able to manage all commitments of a Housekeeping Team Leader
  • Report issues, feedback, and any other relevant information to the site Facility Manager
  • Implement and support initiatives, changes, or updates, on advice from the Group Housekeeping Team Leader

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • Reasonable level of spoken and written English literacy skills.
  • Can work Full time hours (no restrictions).
  • Previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment.
  • A personal philosophy of honesty and integrity, and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti values.
  • Some knowledge of Aged Care legislation including the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Proven team leadership skills and working knowledge of personal care and resident lifestyle requirements in Aged Care and continuous improvement in the accreditation process, electronic housekeeping management systems and OH&S legislation.
  • A positive team-based attitude.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • The ability to work in a busy environment and have good time management skills.
  • Very high attention to detail and commitment to safe work practises.
  • Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, learn and cross train.
  • To be considered for this opportunity you must have the right to live and work in Australia. If you are successful, you will be required to obtain a national police clearance prior to commencement.
