The Role

Working from one of our locations across the state (Burnie, Devonport, Launceston or Hobart) the HR Operations Advisor - Payroll provides hands-on HR support and advice across a range of operational activities, including payroll coordination.

This position is full-time with flexible work hours

On any given day, your duties will include:

  • Provide payroll and HR Operations advice to employees, managers and payroll providers.
  • Deliver accurate data to the payroll provider and complete payroll checks within agreed timeframes.
  • Support the development of new payroll procedures as part of the transition to a new payroll provider
  • Maintain HR data in systems, conduct audits and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the team with cyclical HR activities and projects

What you will bring

  • Experienced in interpreting and processing payroll data accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to interpret awards, legislation, and internal policies.
  • Knowledge of payroll-related legislation (e.g., tax and superannuation) or the ability to acquire it.
  • Strong communication skills to resolve payroll and HR-related queries.
  • Proficiency in maintaining HR systems and ensuring data accuracy.
