Job Description
As the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of financial operations within the family office which is a combination of a strategic leadership role with hands-on staff management.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with the family's long-term goals.
- Investment Management: Manage diverse investment portfolios, providing advice on asset allocation and monitoring performance in line with family objectives.
- Advisor Collaboration: Work with external advisors (tax, legal, investments) to ensure compliance and tax obligations are met as well as efficient financial operations are put in place.
- Cash Flow & Operations: Oversee cash flow management and operational financial processes, ensuring liquidity and supporting both short-term and long-term goals.
- Risk Management: Implement and lead risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with Australian financial regulations and safeguarding assets.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Report directly to senior family members, providing clear insights on financial performance, investments, and strategic opportunities.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role you will have a degree in accounting and CPA/CA qualification. You will have extensive experience in finance, preferably within a family office, private wealth, or high-net-worth environment or business services in an accounting firm followed with commerce and industry exposure. You will have proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team and work effectively with external advisors whilst maintaining a high level of customer service. In addition to this you will have a proactive, hands-on approach with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to think strategically. Lastly you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with senior family members and stakeholders.
