EDQ has a rare opportunity available for two Senior Planners to join its Planning Services team - one in Development Assessment and the other in Planning & Urban Design.
You can be part of this proactive and innovative team that contributes to the delivery of ‘on the ground development’ in EDQ’s Priority Development Areas (PDAs). Using your knowledge, skills & experience in land use planning & development assessment, you will be involved in a variety of projects in a range of locations.

These positions are in EDQ's Planning Services business unit, which is responsible for facilitating development in PDAs through:
Strategic planning functions - this is led by the Planning and Urban Design (PAUD) team who develop EDQ's land use planning and urban design strategies and policies and translate them into development assessment frameworks for proposed and existing PDAs and Statutory planning functions - this is led by Development Assessment (DA) team who undertake the assessment of complex, significant, and high-profile development applications within PDAs.
As a Senior Planner in EDQ Planning Services, you will:
Work in either the PAUD or DA team, depending on your expertise, experience and the business needs of EDQ's Planning Services team.
Work independently to manage work tasks and work in a project team to assess development applications and/or deliver strategic land use planning and urban design projects.
Assist in providing specialist strategic or statutory land use planning advice in the areas of economic, environmental, urban and social planning along with professional written information, interpretations, briefings, presentations and reports.
Work with departmental officers, state bodies, industry, clients, stakeholders and the community on facilitating timely and high-quality strategic or statutory land use planning outcomes.
Contribute to the implementation of communication and negotiation strategies as part of the stakeholder engagement process to identify and resolve issues and maximise stakeholder relationships.
Assess, evaluate, analyse and provide recommendations on land use planning, urban design and development assessment matters.
Assist in the preparation of advice with respect to the Economic Development Act 2012 and other relevant strategic land use planning related policy instruments.
Contribute to the delivery of best practice in urban design, sustainability and economic development through the strategic and statutory land use planning process.
Travel may be a requirement of this role.
