About the role
This position provides high level consultation, advice, support and leadership to the Prison Mental Health Service (PMHS) multidisciplinary team working with people in custody who have or are suspected of having a mental illness. The Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, ongoing development, review, and quality improvement of the mental health services provided by the PMHS team within the correctional environment. The Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clinical Coordinator will also provide direct clinical care, including triage of referrals, assessment, discharge planning and brief interventions, to people referred to the service. In addition, this position is expected to establish, foster, and maintain relationships with a range of other government and non-government agencies, including the Prison Health Service (PHS) and Queensland Corrective Services in the ongoing care and treatment of persons with a mental illness.

HP4 - $128,169 - $137,918 per fortnight
NG7 - $132,562 - $143,924 per fortnight.
