Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Executive Assistant to the Health and Family Services Leadership Team. This position is well-suited to someone who has a high level administrative and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities, and manage time effectively, to provide executive-level support. An understanding of Aboriginal cultural values, and commitment to the advancement and self-determination of Aboriginal communities is highly regarded.

Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

About the Opportunity

The Executive Assistant (EA) role is critical in coordinating the governance functions of the Health and Family Services Leadership Team (HFSLT), including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and papers, tracking action items, and ensuring effective communication across teams. The role requires proactive management of scheduling, travel, and key operational tasks to ensure the Executive Managers are well-prepared and informed. Operating with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Managers of Health Services, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed for meetings, travel and operational activities.
  • At the direction of the Executive Manager Health Services, provide administrative support to the Executive Managers of Family Services, Big Rivers Regional Projects and Senior Medical Officer, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed for meetings, travel, and operational activities.
  • Manage a complex and proactive diary, including prioritising commitments on behalf of the Executive and project managing community-based events at the direction of Health and Family Services Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements on behalf of the Executive Manager Health Services, Family Services, Big Rivers Regional Projects, Senior Medical Officer and Senior Prevention and Population Health Advisor.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the Health and Family Services Leadership Team and key internal and external stakeholders, proactively managing relationships and ensuring clear and timely communication.
