Provide critical support and leadership to the Major Infrastructure Projects team to deliver key water infrastructure projects across Queensland.The Department

The Role This is a critical role to ensure the continued delivery of high-profile, high-risk projects within the Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) team.
Key Accountabilities
- Proactively identifying and managing strategic risks and opportunities related to major water infrastructure projects.
- Leading the development of funding agreements, contracts, detailed business cases, options analysis, studies, contracts, and Memoranda of Understanding.
- Liaising with Australian Government officials, State agencies, project delivery proponents (e.g. local governments and State government entities) and in-house finance and legal services.
- Providing governance oversight for administration of contracts and funding agreements in accordance with approved governance and financial protocols, including payment of claims, review of project reports, milestone assessment and contract revisions as required.
- Preparation of high-quality submissions, correspondence, briefing material, funding proposals and presentations.
This senior (A08) role is for two years, with the potential for extension subject to ongoing project funding. While there are no mandatory requirements, the successful person will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- An experienced senior project leader with demonstrated experience in planning and managing large, complex projects.
- Identification of strategic risks and opportunities, development of strategies and plans in the water sector would be highly regarded.
- Experience in the preparation of high-quality submissions, correspondence, briefing material, funding proposals and presentations.
- Experience in the development of funding agreements and contracts.
- Travel away from the office may be required.
