Description:

Peoplebank are recruiting for two Cyber Security roles (1 x Senior and 1 x Junior) to work on an initial 6 month contract (extensions likely).
These roles are based in Adelaide and you m ust have full, existing Australian work rights and due to the urgency of the roles, preference will be given to those already living in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Security Engineer will work within one or more IT projects to ensure that security requirements are clearly documented and incorporated into the technical and operational solution design, and that the delivered solution meets cyber security requirements. The security engineer will also liaise with the project and operational teams to ensure ongoing security related procedures are transitioned into operations.
Junior Cyber Security Engineer
  • We are seeking candidates who have been formally trained in cybersecurity including aspects such as risk management and vulnerability identification. Prior commercial experience in a cybersecurity role is also advantageous.
  • This position involves a variety of tasks that are closely related to the operational activities of the cybersecurity team.
  • The role is highly hands-on , requiring the successful candidate to work independently on multiple tasks. The ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks autonomously is crucial.
  • You should be prepared to engage in diverse activities, contributing to the team's overall objectives and gaining valuable practical experience in the field.
Cyber Security Architect
  • This position demands extensive experience in a direct security architecture role .
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the identification, creation, and development of security artifacts.
  • Additionally, they will set the strategic direction for a comprehensive program of work. This program involves the implementation of Microsoft cloud-native capabilities, as well as integration with on-premise technologies.
  • Therefore, a broad exposure to a variety of technologies is highly beneficial.
  • The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the security landscape of the program, ensuring robust and scalable security solutions are in place.
  • Collaboration skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of security principles are essential for this role.
The anticipated services that would be covered by this engagement include:
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand program requirements and security needs.
  • Design and configure cloud components on-premise and cloud to align with recognised security baselines and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain security controls to protect internal programs from cyber threats.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop process for the monitoring of security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other security team members to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Provide security guidance and support to development teams to ensure the secure design and implementation of internal programs.
  • Document security configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring they are well-documented and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders

Essential Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in security engineering, with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Experience configuring cloud components to align with recognized security baselines.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO, CIS, SACSF, ISM.
  • Excellence in technical concepts with demonstrated commitment to expanding knowledge.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate security-related concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
