Learning Facilitator, Road to Zero
Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Learning Facilitator, Road to Zero at Museums Victoria.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to present the Road to Zero world-leading road safety programs, ensuring high-quality educational outcomes through the use of the latest visual and digital technology, both onsite and via the Road Smart Interactive metropolitan and regional outreach program. The position is accountable for facilitating curriculum-aligned and wellbeing education programs that support the Transport Accident Commission's (TAC) mission of road safety education while contributing to Museums Victoria's audience experience.
Some of the key duties include:
- Present programs and activities to middle and upper secondary school groups, teachers, stakeholders and general audiences at Road to Zero at Melbourne Museum, and via the Road Smart Interactive outreach to metropolitan and regional audiences.
- Spend up to five days in regional Victoria presenting programs every 2-3 weeks during the school term.
- Use contemporary digital tools, such as touch-tables, tablets, and VR, to deliver engaging educational experiences, including basic troubleshooting.
- Set up, pack down and assist in maintaining materials and resources used in the delivery of programs and activities.
- Set up and take down built elements of the Road Smart Interactive pop-up experience.
- Provide feedback on audience response to programs and implement evaluation tools for programming and customer service purposes, as required.
- Under supervision, undertake specific tasks associated with the development and implementation of programs.
- With support, facilitate teacher professional development and stakeholder engagement.
- Work collaboratively with other Road to Zero learning facilitation staff, including peer-to-peer program and procedure training.
- Liaise with other Museums Victoria and TAC staff and clients for the day-to-day delivery of programs.
- Comply with Museums Victoria's policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations, including the Road to Zero operational procedures.
- Comply with TAC Road Safety requirements
The successful applicant will have:
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret content from Victorian Curriculum subject areas for secondary school audiences, including one or more of science, health and wellbeing.
- Awareness of education and learning techniques for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, including independently operate digital interactive technologies and install structural elements of pop-up exhibition.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams including the ability to work with multiple project leaders.
- Able to take responsibility for own performance and manage own work and time effectively.
- The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and a Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
- The successful applicant must have a current Victorian Drivers Licence and be willing to undergo a TAC licence check and be assessed as suitable.
OTHER INFORMATION
This role is Irregular Part-time (min 30 hours per fortnight), Fixed-Term for 2 Years. The salary on offer is $66,063 pro rata + 11.5% Superannuation.
