Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations
- Salary: $109,730 to $132,764 (Plus Superannuation)
- Ongoing role, full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition St, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The position of Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations is responsible for the delivery of advice and consultancy services on a wide range of workplace relations activities, including providing strategic and tactical advice and support on workplace relations matters within the department and its portfolio agencies. This position may also act as the Review of Actions Registrar for the department.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide strategic and tactical advice and consultancy to all levels of management and across the department on a diverse range of industrial relations matters including policy, change management, misconduct, employee incapacity and unsatisfactory performance.
- Lead and/or undertake activities on projects and initiatives as required.
- Undertake HR policy development and review, ensuring compliance with relevant instruments, legislation, VPS directions and Common Policies and prepare comprehensive, well-written documentation and communications on a range of complex and sensitive employee relations issues.
The Team
The position of Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations forms a part of the People and Culture in the Corporate Services group.
People & Culture is a multi-disciplinary team which operates within the Corporate Services Group of DJSIR. It is a strategic, tactical and operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice. It has a clear focus on adding value to the department by supporting the Executive Board to drive DJSIR's organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives.
The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience, and a record of achievement, in managing complex human resource and/or workplace relations issues in the public sector environment.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the legislative, regulatory and industrial instruments relating to employment in the Victorian Public Service.
- Demonstrated experience in gaining agreement and building support and ownership of ideas by using appropriate influence with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
