We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Advisor to join the Accounting and Financial Services branch at the Department of Treasury and Finance.

Remuneration: ASO7 – Salary Range ($108,109 - $116,864 p.a.).

The Accounting and Financial Services Branch provides an advisory function to public authorities on accounting, financial management, reporting and taxation. It also leads the development and oversight of instructions under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1987 , whole of government banking, DTF graduate program, departmental finance & procurement, whole of government budget system and provides support to the Lotteries Commissioner.

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Principal Advisor in the Advisory and Professional Development team, this role is responsible for advisory relating to financial management requirements that apply to SA Government.

The Advisory and Professional Development team includes a number of senior advisors with varying focus in their roles. For this position, we are seeking someone with the ability to develop guidance and provide practical advice on the application of financial management requirements to SA Government agencies. Experience in applying such requirements within an SA Government agency will be advantageous. Experience in banking matters is welcomed, but not essential.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, commerce, law, banking or other relevant field; or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive written and verbal communication and presentation skills which result in effective and appropriate communication of complex concepts to a broad range of people.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing practical advice on complex financial management concepts.
  • Extensive experience in establishing and managing relationships with senior staff in a range of organisations and managing client engagement.
