Description:

Graduate Research Assistant role in Melbourne with ORIMA Research, focusing on qualitative data analysis and public sector projects.

Your role

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting qualitative data using tools like SPSS, Q, and Excel.
  • Designing qualitative research methodologies.
  • Organizing and conducting research fieldwork, including online surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Managing projects and coordinating tasks.
  • Solving problems, drawing insights, and report writing.
  • Collaborating across public sector projects and research disciplines.

About you

Qualifications

  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields (e.g., Psychology, Social Sciences).
  • HD average in graduate/postgraduate course (WAM over 80).
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings.
  • A positive mindset and adaptability.

Compensation & benefits

Salary: AUD63,000.00 annually. Additional benefits include comprehensive on-the-job training, a buddy program, annual off-site conference/retreat, regular social events, and access to an Employee Assistance Program.

Training, development & rotations

The role offers comprehensive training, including a buddy program and learning from skilled professionals. ORIMA has more Qualified Professional Researchers (QPR) than any other firm.

Career progression

After 12 months, Graduate Assistants may be assessed to become Associate Research Consultants. The program provides a clear progression pathway and opportunities to develop research skills.
