You are invited to apply for the role of Principal Project Manager (AO7), Property Group, Queensland Government Accommodation Office.

This position is based in Brisbane CBD and reports to the Manager, Major Projects. The position is available for a period of 18 months with a possibility of further extension.

Reporting to the Manager, Major Projects, Property Group you will, deliver significant and complex capital works projects, manage service contracts and provide high level advice and strategic support to the Property, Leasing and Senior QGAO managers on project management, property life-cycle management including the financial management of owned assets aligned to the Strategic Portfolio Plan.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver significant and complex capital works projects on behalf of QGAO for a diverse asset portfolio.
  • Lead multi-disciplined project teams in the areas of risk management and maintenance management to support the department's property portfolio and Provide leadership in the delivery of projects in accordance with established programs and strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with QBuild partners, agencies, external and internal consultants to define scope, costs and programs related to capital works delivery.
  • Develop project briefs, detailed terms of reference, briefing notes, project commencement approvals, requests for financial approvals and other documentation as required. Prepare and report on project status and programs in a timely manner.
  • Manage capital works projects in accordance with the Department's Financial Accountability Framework and ensure value for money outcomes are achieved for capital works projects and managed service contracts.
  • Undertake financial administration. Track and report on project expenditure and evaluate against forecast project cash flows. Prepare detailed project and program cash flows as required.
  • Manage service contracts and SOA's on behalf of QGAO and ensure service providers deliver in accordance with contract and established SOA terms and conditions.
  • Define, create and develop risk management, audit and assessment programs in support of overall government owned office portfolio.
  • Research and advise on best practice asset management principles, the latest research and government initiatives to support the effective operation of Government assets.
  • Research industry practice to ensure that project activity related to energy, capital works and risk management is undertaken to enhance the value and utilisation of the portfolio using best practice principle.
  • Consult and coordinate with other government agencies, local governments, industry representatives, other stakeholders and the community to ensure that project outcomes are met.
  • Represent the department at a senior level at intra and inter-departmental meetings and external forums and Develop network across Departments and with selected industry organisations.
