As the AO6 Principal Project Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a range of projects funded through the Environmental Investigations and Biodiversity Conservation streams under the joint Queensland and Australian Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The DRFA provides funding for projects that support the rehabilitation and restoration of rain and flood affected environments to maintain healthy ecosystems and improve their resilience against future events.

The Principal Project Officer will be responsible for overseeing the development of project agreements with stakeholders and service providers, managing procurement and grants, tracking finance and reporting requirements, managing stakeholder engagement, program communications and media considerations. You will work with staff within Threatened Species Operations and build relationships within the department and with other government agencies, First Nations Peoples, research institutions, natural resource management groups, non-government organisations
and species experts to deliver projects. There will be opportunities to travel to project sites to meet with delivery partners, undertake site inspections and review project outcomes as part of this role.

A critical element of our program is working with our stakeholders and communicating our program priorities, so we are looking for someone who is engaging and adaptive in their communications and ways of working.

To be successful in this position you must have:

• Experience in project management related to ecological planning, conservation management, landscape scale science or threatened species management.
- The work we do is challenging and critical to the conservation of threatened species. We are looking for someone that understands the principles of threatened species management and recovery to ensure our projects are appropriately designed, well managed and outcomes focused.
- We are looking for someone who can demonstrate exceptional project management skills, has the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate project and program outcomes to contribute to broader program priorities.

- You will have excellent written and spoken communication skills, and an ability to articulate purpose, engage with a variety of audiences and demonstrated attention to accuracy of information.
