About The Job- As coordinator of the Leisure and Lifestyle team, your role is to promote a culturally sensitive and appropriate range of Recreational, Community, Cultural and Spiritual activities for residents enabling them to function as a community, expand their skills, enjoy a healthy lifestyle and to celebrate their lifetime experiences.
- Ensuring the delivery of a range of high standard activities in accordance with the adopted philosophy of care, Vision Mission and Values of the organisation.
- Liaising with residents, families and carers in relation to resident preferences.
- Displaying tolerance and patience with our residents/consumers and demonstrating empathy with their needs and aspirations and encouraging their involvement – but respecting a resident’s/consumers right not to participate.
- Creating and implementing a monthly plan of activities that is displayed throughout the organisation.
- Devising and implementing a high standard of activities and programs to suit the needs and aspirations of residents
- Documenting the Social History and Family / Carer involvement as an integral part of the overall ongoing care plan review process for residents/consumers.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- A qualification in an appropriate field with Certificate 3 or 4 (desirable).
- Initiative and creative flair.
- Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work as part of a team and be able to prioritise work.
- Have the ability to put a smile on a residents face and brighten their day.
- Innovative ideas to develop strategies to increase client participation.
- A pro-active and energetic self-starter with a strong customer service focus.
Pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour
