Your role within Housing and Homelessness Services will support the department to provide home purchase assistance and debt management services directly to customers and property management services that support service delivery staff. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.

Service Delivery, Housing and Homelessness Services provides a range of services, products and referrals to offer housing solutions for diverse customer groups. We are committed to the successful delivery of the Homes for Queenslanders plan, including helping first home owners into the market.

You will be leading the development, implementation and monitoring of business initiatives to support the implementation of the Housing Strategy and support the delivery of housing solutions across the department's diverse portfolio.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop policy and guidelines for, and support the implementation of, home purchase assistance products and services.
  • Lead a team of customer service staff delivering home purchase assistance products to eligible customers.
  • Develop and maintain effective linkages with internal staff, other work units, government and non-government partners to ensure delivery of programs and projects, and ensuring identified service needs and issues are reflected in policies, procedures and other resources consistent with legislation and departmental plans and priorities.
  • Provide timely and expert advice to senior management and other relevant business areas, on a range of strategic issues relevant to program objectives and performance
  • Develop, provide and coordinate support activities for departmental staff and other key stakeholders to ensure delivery of programs.
  • Provide high level analysis, advice and recommendations of innovative approaches to new trends and issues that support the planning and direction of portfolio management strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate correspondence, briefings, speech notes, reports, information papers, submissions, protocols, policies, processes, project plans and briefs, and other relevant documentation as required.
  • Lead and ensure you establish and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day to day operations.
