We’re looking for a Principal Project Officer to play a key role in shaping the future of Queensland’s legal assistance sector.You’ll lead complex projects, provide high-level strategic support, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

You'll be responsible for providing high-level advice t, while overseeing the management and delivery of key projects aimed at improving the efficiency of legal service provision across the state. What You'll Do
- Lead and manage complex projects from start to finish, including planning, managing risks, creating communication strategies, setting timelines, and completing final reports.
- Provide expert advice and research on legal assistance services, including how funding is managed and how services are delivered.
- Look for ways to improve the legal assistance sector, ensuring services are effective, timely, and follow best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key groups, including Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (ATSILS), Community Legal Centres (CLCs), Women's Legal Services (WLS) and Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services (FVPLS).
- Work with both government and non-government agencies to ensure funding and operations run smoothly.
- Prepare clear and high-quality reports, briefs, and advice for senior leaders and Ministers.
- Analyse data to guide decision-making and improve the delivery of legal services.
We're looking for a highly organised, proactive individual with a strong background in project management and policy development. You'll have a sharp eye for identifying opportunities to improve the sector and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality results. You should have experience building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, with a solid understanding of diverse cultural needs, including those of First Nations communities.
