Description:
The Senior Program Officer participates in the development, implementation and project management of place based, whole of department, and whole-of-government programs and strategies in relation to the provision of human services.Provide timely and effective high-level advice on operational program, service and policy issues to ensure the department achieves desired outcomes in the provision of human services.
The Senior Program Officer's Key Responsibilities Are
- Implement and/or manage projects and programs that support the effective delivery of services relevant to the business
- Collaborate to co-ordinate place-based design work, including procurement, and implement community based service responses that better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
- Collaborate with stakeholders towards the development and implementation of whole-of-government policy and program initiatives relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business
- Undertake research and provide advice to government and regional staff.
- Prepare briefs, plans, contract and procurement documentation, correspondence and other departmental reports in a timely and professional manner, consistent with departmental guidelines Collaborate with other departmental staff in the management of communication and information activities to ensure broad awareness of issues related to child protection services.
- Develop and maintain systems for the effective monitoring and review of policy and programs which are the responsibility of the business.
