About the role
As Community Development Officer you will be part of the Community Wellbeing team and responsible for delivering upon the Community Development Strategy 2021 - 2026. Your focus will be on strengthening community services and building on existing community strengths and partnerships to help shape the future of Ipswich. Focus areas will include inclusion, homelessness, domestic and family violence and mental health.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate the implementation of key actions from the Ipswich Community Development Strategy 2021-2026 in collaboration with partners and key stakeholders
- Coordinate the Ipswich Disability Inclusion Network, and other key network meetings
- Represent the team across a range of community service networks
- Identify local community needs though research, consultation, and identification of service gaps to determine and facilitate appropriate initiatives to improve the capabilities and capacities of the Ipswich community
- Raise inclusion and accessibility awareness and understanding within the community to acknowledge and embrace Inclusion including championing council's commitment to inclusion and accessibility program
- Deliver projects and initiatives in line with community development and engagement and project management principles and techniques

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Possession of a degree in Community Services, Business, or experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communicator who builds strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Possess a current Queensland "C" Class Queensland driver's licence.
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
- Blue Card - Working with Children

This is a temporary, full time position from May 2025 to February 2026, Level 5 with a salary commencing at $97,827 plus 12.5% superannuation.
