About the DepartmentThe department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
Early Learning Operations and Monitoring (ELOM) Division leads core funding, policy, operational and contract management and financial monitoring functions for funded Three- and Four-Year-Old kindergarten programs in Victoria. ELOM also leads a number of targeted programs and provider supports to help ensure viable, well managed services that are accessible to all children.
About the Role
The Business Manager / Executive Assistant provides executive level support and coordination to the Executive Director of the Early Learning Operations and Monitoring Division. This role also supports broader Divisional administration in partnership with the senior leadership teams.
The role performs a range of project and administrative functions that require a high level of initiative, professional judgement and the ability to proactively manage the needs of the Executive Office. The functions include management of executive emails, calendars and meeting invites; managing briefings and correspondence including tracking as per Departmental policies and processes; monitoring and delegation of critical / urgent tasks; supporting HR processes and maintaining Divisional HR records; and financial support including management of office services, purchasing and payment of invoices.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Experience in working in a public sector environment and knowledge of the Victorian early childhood education sector are desirable, along with administrative and finance skills.
