Townsville Hospital and Health Service , is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

The Patient Services Officer - Telehealth Coordinator is a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for coordinating and supporting the effective delivery of Telehealth services within the Oncology Department, while also contributing to the growth and development of Telehealth services within the unit.

Patient Services Officer - Telehealth Coordinator
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary Full-time commencing ASAP up to 05/12/2025 (with the possibility of extension - not exceeding two (2) years in total)
Location: Oncology Department, Townsville University Hospital

Remuneration package of up to $8138 p.m.

  • Salary range: $2950.00 - $3280.70 p.f. (AO3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About the role

  • Coordinate and support Telehealth Clinics with internal and external stakeholders ensuring effective utilisation of equipment and clinic allocation to meet service delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in the use of, function and application of videoconferencing technology and aid to rural and remote sites as required.
  • Deliver exceptional person-centred customer service to patients, their families and the public, assisting and directing patients, visitors and colleagues in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Build good relationships with patients, their families and work colleagues by using strong communication and negotiation skills to understand customers' needs and deliver a service that meets their needs with adherence to policy and standards.
  • Access and utilise a wide variety of relevant patient and corporate information systems to accurately record all demographic and other mandatory patient information relative to work environment.
